How To: Blush

Ok Ladies!!!

Who doesn't love a flushed cheek??? When you say Blush do you think clown, silly, or overdone? Those shouldn't be the words on your lips! Blush can be really easy. Start of with a color close to your natural skin tone... then when your A Okay with the application try some different colors!!! I did a quick video a few weeks ago about the placement of blush, cheek contour, and highlight. Check it out and let me know what you think!

LOTD... A new found Fav combo!!!

So I just got this lipstick from Maybelline and I'm in love (I can't wait for BOGO)!!! I just picked this ColorSENSATIONAL I was editting and playing with my stash and this is the combo I came up with. So here's the 5 steps to how I created the look!

1. Make sure you lips are clean and flake free... use some sort of primer or lip scrub.

2. I used Vital Radiance's Soft Plum, this happens to be an eyeliner, and lined around my natural lip line. I went a little thick with the line.

3. Using Maybelline's new ColorSensational lipstick in #445 On The Mauve straight from the tube I filled in my lips with color! (ohh so creamy!!)

4. Blend lips together

5. Topped it off with MAC's Bling Black GlimmerGlass

Taa Daa!

Let me know which of the ColorSensational's you've tried, cause I'm sooo going back for more!!!

Blog Makeup Sale?

Should I do one? I was thinking of Pick 1 H.E. and Pick 3 drugstore item for $10 + shipping. US only. Some items are new, but most are at least swatched... all will have pictures....

Any thoughts? Here are some brands:

H.E.... Stila, Too Faced, UD, Smashbox, Tarte, and The Body Shop

Drugstore... Revlon, Jane, L'oreal, ELF, and NYX

I'm taking a poll people really... I don't want to take all the pictures and have no takers or any interest.... I'd rather give the items away to a Women's Shelter or something if I don't have any interest...

All you have to do is vote to the LEFT ( The poll Blog Sale?) POLL ENDS on the 21st... or if I have alot of interest! More items will be added if people are excited about this!!

Thanks

My Cheap Fix!

So, I had a crazy week and needed a quick fix... makeup wise of course! I headed to Walmart because I needed a box for storing my nail polishes (thanks Zoya and Twitter, LOL). As I was leaving my Walmart I passed a Sally Beauty Supply and there was my fix! Sally's has good deals BOGO's, Free with purchase items... and this month they had Sally Girl cosmetics buy 5 get 1 free. I was cruising the eye shadows and found myself saying, "JES, girl you know you have MORE than enough eye shadows." So I picked thru the over 50 nail polish colors to find 5 that I liked. More like... I was holding myself to only buying 5 that I liked. While I was looking I noticed these little signs stating that these polished were Formaldehyde, DBP, and Toluene Free! How exciting, right! So I picked up 5 at 99 cents each. If you are a Beauty Club member they are 89 cents. I picked up: It's So U, Surfs Up, In The Pink, Not My Type, and U Betcha.(left to right as pictured). I'm excited to try this puppies and see how I like them. I read the reviews and they seemed mixed. But if you are looking for a really affordable range of colors from funky to french bases... there is another brand out there: Sally Girl.
I also have 6 of there eye shadows already and I am happy with them. They have a cute snap together packaging that's easy on the traveling makeup bag! Sally Beauty Supply is on Twitter, also found across the USA and International locations, and will ship orders! Happy shopping!

Another eye Primer to Love!

So it's no guess that I love bright colors on my eyes!! One of the best ways to make your eye shadows really pop is adding an eye primer to your makeup routine! Along with a base or all alone eye primers really help add depth to all of your eye shadows from the dollar store lines to the highest of high ends! I have to say, I have more than a few eye primers I love using... but Tarte Cosmetics "Lifted" Natural Eye Primer with Firmtol is... well AMAZING!!!
"Lifted" comes in a convented tube very similar to most lipglosses and has a flocked tip. You might be asking "with Firmtol"... what is that? Via Tarte's website this is a formula that tightens the eyelid skin in up to 51% of the users and in as little as 10 mins after applying! After reading this I wanted to try this out... and the best way(for my skin tone) is to use a lighter color. So I applied the Lifted Natural Eye Primer with Firmtol and then Stila's Slate eyeshadow (might be discounted) all over the lid and blended up. Added a few more touches and this is the outcome. I have to say I don't have issues with my eyelid area, but the skin did feel a bit smoother and that color didn't go anywhere!! The product is riddled with natural plant extracts like: ginseng root and portulaca oleracea. Just as it's filled with the good ... Tarte has taken out the other stuff ... leaving Lifted Natural Eye Primer free of : dyes, talc, paraben, and gluten. If you're in the market for a new or another primer give this one a test.
Priced at $20(see below) for .11 fl. oz ... also the shelf life for this product is 6 months. Products used so close to the open body(ie. the eye) just like mascaras and most wet products have a shorter the shelf life for safety reasons.
Ok are you ready for the gift!! Tarte Cosmetics is having Friends and Family discount of 40% off!!!!!! Hello that is a savings!! Here's the code FF09 (like 2009) the discount is until the 24th of this month! Plus free shipping on orders over $60!! Enjoy shopping!!

Great find at the M.U.S 2009

Pencil Me In Cosmetics!!!

What a great find from the Makeup Show 2009. Linda Eisner the owner and founder of the pencils hooked me up at the show with 3 of her really cool Pencils. At the show I was really impressed that her daughter , Stephanie had done her WHOLE eye look with just using the pencils and a small e/s brush. I meet them @ close to 4:30pm and Stephanie stated that she had had the makeup on from 6:30am!!! Crazy.... right! So Linda hand picked the ones she thought I should try... Orchid Spark, Char-kol, and Emerald City. You guys know I love purples!!!

WOW, I was really impressed once I came home. The textures of these pencils are wonderful. Creamy but not smudge, Intense but not funky, and good for ya!! So what is the story with these pencils you may ask. Well as Linda so perfectly stated in her interview with Koren (from EnKoreMakeup, youtube GURU) the eye area is one of the few places that accepts nutrients. So these pencils are infused with Vitamins and Anti-Oxidants (please watch the interview for list of vitamins!!!) Plus they include a ton of natural ingredients. Also, wait for it..... They each come with BUILT in sharpener!! Right in the cap. Perfect no major cleanup just sharpen and go!!

Ok so with this look I just used the Orchid Spark which has a great silver glitter(the glitters are NOT waterline safe) on the upper lash line. I did it semi thick cause I knew I wasn't going to do anything else to my eye area! I just popped a little liquid black liner to give the wing-out some definition. and that's it!!! I added mascara. What a simple effective summer look... right. Just enough pop of color to be fun, but not time consuming!!

The line has 30 colors... like Snow a true white, 24 Karat a rich gold, and Pink Lady Grease Fans would be proud!!

Check out Linda's creations at http://www.pencilmeincosmetics.com/

My new fav!

Ok so I have a new favorite brush.
It's soft, cheap, and wonderful. E.L.F. studio strikes again. Sorry for the semi crappy picture... my nice cam is acting up!!! Ok so this brush is $3 bucks.... by the way everything in the E.L.F. studio line is $3. The regular E.L.F. line starts at $1 and they have minerals which range in price. Anyway... back to the brush.

The handle is nice and thick, fits nicely in your hand. I've used it for powder and for blush blending. It's made of synthetic Taklon ( so you animal lovers should be happy) , also I just noticed it can be used for wet products too.... interesting... I wonder how it would work with liquid foundations.

Next to MAC's 239.

I'm going to write me review on the E.L.F. website right now!

Eyes Lips Face duo.

I really wanted to do this live... using my webcam and then editing in some stills of the product... but since my webcam hates me right now.... I'll do a blog review.( I know AIversonBabe is happy:P). Which might work out better in the end(LESS WORK). Ok so my pal on youtube Girlcanpaint spotlighted this product a few videos ago... and I placed a E.L.F order about 2 weeks ago and decided to make this part of my haul. So glad I did! Here's the story. Ok are you sitting down? Most likely yes, anyway... if you're looking for a sleek blush/bronzer combo.... look no farther.

This E.L.F. duo is 3 bucks!!! And the color payoff is excellent. Just enough bronzsey shimmer and just a touch of coralie pink to make this a Spring must, and for the price come on. Here are some close up pictures of the colors. I heard that this combo is a dupe for a NARS blush duo, but since I don't have the NARS I can't say for sure. If anyone knows the duo I'm talking about let me know.
Let's talk packaging. Ok it's a soft matte case, with E.L.F. and Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder in small letters(NOT BLASTING) on the flip top. Now that flip-top, the only con is...
it is REALLY hard to pop open. I almost broke my already weak nail on it, but once it was opened I was really happy soooo. Full mirror, plastic E.L.F. cover, and shiny black plastic surround the 2 rounded rectangular pans. 4grams/.14 Oz total. The bottom has a small circular stick stating the product name and number.

I used this duo on a client and she loved the color payoff! I was happy too the picture above is more sunny shade if you will.... It's showing a but more pink there than in really life. I really hope E.L.F. does more as far as color products in their Studio Line.
